Medical Imaging Ministries of the Americas was organized to bring hope and healing to underserved communities.  We serve to establish advanced ultrasound medical imaging in underserved and low-resourced rural areas of the Americas and Caribbean.

It is well understood that access to healthcare remains one of the most tragic disparities across the globe.  Technology, personnel and pharmaceuticals are unevenly distributed.  The consequence of this situation is often literally life or death.

The inequality of this is acutely felt in rural and remote areas…and the people most impacted are pre-natal and post-partum mothers, infants and children under the age of 10.

For most of us, the enormity of this problem makes us feel powerless to act.  But in the words of an 18th century philosopher:  “Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little.”

This sentiment and an underlying faith in the fellowship of humankind inspired us to establish MIMAs in 2016.  To us, it became apparent that bringing the powerful diagnostic technology of ultrasound to the most remote areas in Central and South America fulfills our aspiration to do the most good for the least fortunate.
